If you’re looking for the things to do in Venice on New Year’s Eve, here’s the right place where to find something interesting.
Every year, our guests ask us for some pieces of advice to experience New Year’s Eve in Venice at its bests. This year, we decided to write a blog post to collect all the things to do in Venice on New Year’s Eve. You can find some inspiration to enjoy your holiday in the most beautiful city in the world, under the light of New Year’s Eve fireworks.
New Year’s Eve at La Fenice Opera House
One of the most original ways to spend New Year’s Eve in Venice is attending the New Year’s Eve concert at Teatro la Fenice.
The theatre itself deserves a visit, but if you have the chance to find a ticket for this concert, this would be an experience that will last forever in your memories. It’s thrilling.
Eat Your Way through the New Year at a typical Venetian restaurant
As you know, Italians love eating as much as the Venetians, and on New Year’s Eve, the dinner is something that really matters and not only home. You’ll notice that all the restaurants in Venice propose a complete menù, with many courses. All good, this is the way we celebrate New Year’s Eve, and you won’t be able to stand up from your chair before midnight.
Don’t forget to ask for a slice of the traditional Tiramisu, before leaving.
We usually suggest some restaurant to our guests, that we collected in the blog post called “where to eat in Venice like a local.”, but feel free to stop by at the reception to ask for some more.
The number of tourists who come to Venice on New Year’s Eve is consistent and finding a place where to have dinner can be hard. Book your table in advance, or you can ask us to do it for you.
Watch the fireworks in St. Mark’s Square
Watching New Year’s Eve fireworks in Venice needs no ticket, but St. Mark’s Square is a craved place, and you must take your place in advance if you want to enjoy the show comfortably.
… or at Punta della Dogana
Same thing if you would like to toast to the New Year looking at the magical and dark Venetian lagoon. Punta della Dogana, where there’s the famous Palazzo Grassi, is the perfect place to watch fireworks, but because of that, it’s always crowded. Don’t be late.
Try your luck at the Casino of Venice
Another thing to do in Venice on New Year’s Eve is celebrating the end of the year by trying your luck at the Venice Casino. Imagine if you win thousands of euros that night, that would be definitely a good start!
